DualSulf Process Total Sulphur and H2S Analyser

Duty: To measure the concentration of both H₂S and total sulphur simultaneously in a process gas stream.

The metered process sample is split into two arms. One arm is directed to a detection module where the H₂S is measured using interference free ASTM approved tapes.

The second arm is mixed with a continuous flowing stream of hydrogen. The mixed gases are heated together in a reducing furnace at a temperature between 650-1050°C (depending on application), where the sulphur compounds are converted to H₂S. A catalyst is utilised in the furnace to aid conversion in some applications. The resulting H₂S is measured using interference free ASTM approved tapes.

Since the patented catalytic element is self-regenerating, there is no need for manual or automatic regeneration of the furnace. No carbon build-up occurs in normal operation, even in the presence of unsaturated hydrocarbons.

The local LCD display provides the current H₂S / total S readings, alarms if any and failure indicators.

With its wide-ranging ability to measure total sulphur in gases from % levels down to ppb levels, the TG400 range of Total Sulphur process analysers can be utilised in many process industries, including:

• Ethylene/Propylene plants
• Reformer recycle gas
• Offshore gas production
• Fuel gas monitoring
• Catalyst protection
• Sour gas treatment plants
